Welcome to the NWA Transparency Project.

The NWA Transparency Project was created to collect, organize, preserve, and publish public records, timelines, correspondence, court filings, environmental documentation, development records, and other materials relating to matters of public interest throughout Northwest Arkansas.

The project began after our family’s experience living adjacent to major residential development activity associated with the Stokenbury Farms subdivision in Elkins, Arkansas.

Over a period of months, we documented construction activity, stormwater runoff concerns, drainage issues, detention pond questions, infrastructure matters, regulatory activity, public-record disputes, and related issues affecting our neighborhood and surrounding community.

What initially began as efforts to understand conditions affecting our property and neighborhood eventually expanded into public-record requests, environmental documentation, agency correspondence, litigation, chronology development, and the collection of a substantial body of records from multiple agencies and sources.

As records accumulated across multiple topics, agencies, and timelines, it became increasingly difficult to organize, preserve, and review the information in a meaningful way. This website was created to serve as a centralized repository where records can be preserved, timelines can be maintained, and source documents can be made accessible to the public.
